Introduction
This visual guide will assist you to setup a workstation in preparation for Joomla installation, WordPress, Drupal or any Apache, Php and MySQL powered web application.

Installing WAMP
1. Down the WAMP application from the links above.
2. Save the software on to your machine.
3. Double click the Wamp file on your computer.
4. Assuming this is a new installation “Click Yes”, to continue with install
5. Click “Next”
6. Click on “i to the agreement” radio button and then “Click Next”
7. Choose where you would want to install WAMP. The default “C:\wamp” is fine. You can install Wamp in different directory you should you choose to. Let’s leave it on the default. Click “Next” to continue.
8. Click the check mark for “Create a Desktop icon”
9. Click on the “Install” button to begin the installation.
10. If you have Firefox installed on your machine, Wamp will ask you to use Firefox as the default web browser. Click “Yes” if you firefox or no to use the default web browser on your computer.
11. The Windows firewall will ask you to allow Apache to open a port on your computer. Click on the check mark “Private networks, such as my home or work network.” This will allow you to access your computer on the network.
12. The next screen asks you to fill in the parameters used to send email by the php mail function. Leave the defaults and click “Next”.
13. Click “Launch Wamp Server now” and click finish. If everything went well, you should have WAMP installed.
14. Wait a while until the small icon that looks like a speedometer is white. The icon is located on bottom tight on the Windows Taskbar.
15. Left click on the icon. Do not “Right click”. A menu pops up. Click on the “localhost” to launch your web browser and test if your web server, Apache, is working.
16. A web browser opens, if you see the next screen, then everything went well and now you can continue installing or developing your php applications.
17. Congratulations, you have successfully installed Apache, Php and MySQL.
Common Errors
As with all software things do not always go smoothly.
Problem
1. Apache might not start if another application is using port 80.
Solution
1. Check if Skype is running, if yes close skype and try starting Wamp again.
